As I am working for new content for the next chapters of the book, I decided to start sharing a few live demos of how AWS Lambda functions can be used as the back end of your application.

For now, there is a couple of “Hello World”-like examples and a more complex one using OpenCV within a Lambda function to apply face recognition to a picture. All functions are available in JavaScript and Python. To use libraries and modules such as OpenCV in a Lambda function, you should install everything locally (and compile statically, if necessary) and include that with the deployment package of your function.
